The Cape Regional Chamber is a proud supporter of Afriversity:
The Cape Town Chamber of Commerce is proud to support Afriversity in developing the new entrepreneurs of Africa´s tomorrow. We applaud the organization in their mission to teach entrepreneurship, market economics and business ethics in order to make a difference for others. These aspects mirror the Chamber´s core values. There is no question that Afriversity gives us access to a talented and select group of people and supporting these bright leaders means a brighter future for all
The Chamber is an international service organisation which provides all its members-in-business with information, training, business opportunities and representation.
We represent business, whether collectively or individually, in all areas where business conditions can improve or where they have been threatened or damaged. Our
information desks provide you with all the business related information. Business people, small and large, sellers and buyers, new or established, meet at the hundreds
of networking events to do business. We connect international business people as the first point of contact in the Western Cape. Focused, practical training for employees
and business owners are affordable and conducted by experts in their fields. The Chamber’s efforts in respect of the RSC levies, port congestion, poor legislation,
monopolistic practices (profiteering) have saved every business in our province thousands or in some cases millions of Rands. We are recognised by three levels of Government
as the most relevant, competent and fairest business organisation when it comes to business and economic development.
The Chamber is a BEE level two service provider.
Educational Institutions
- Afriversity is looking to forge relationships with leading and innovative Universities that today provide practical entrepreneurial training programmes
- The locations in Africa are initially focused on South Africa, Kenya and Ghana
- The university and business school locations outside Africa are focused on the Nordics, UK and the US
- Afriversity wants to offer a curriculum that is focused mainly at the junior executive who aspires to becoming a proficient global business person with enough confidence and skill to conquer any market
- Afriversity accelerates the traditional education and equips the student with hands-on practical skills and real life business contacts that can be used immediately
- The aim is not to offer a too theoretical approach typical of many MBAs. But a more hands on training on skills in building real businesses, selling, marketing, negotiating, financing, and managing teams
- The focus is on building confidence and the ability for the student to create her or his own success.
- The partner institution will sit on the faculty advisory board of Afriversity and be part of designing the training programmes
- The partner is expected to contribute lecturers, training facilities and other resources in co-operation and exchange with other educational institutions that are part of the Afriversity program. The exact volume and amount of resources is flexible and open for discussion and funding available to Afriversity from Commercial sponsors and other donors.
Commercial Partners
- Afriversity is inviting sponsoring commercial companies that will provide funds and placements for an exchange programmes similar to that of MBA schools
- It is envisaged that a group of 10-20 founding companies in Europe and the US will offer both opportunities for practical management trainee positions and funding
- Most of the Commercial Partners are sought in Europe and USA, but also leading African companies will be encouraged to participate
NGOs, Foundations and Private Donors
- Afriversity is engaging other NGO (Non Government Organisations) to contribute both funds and skills to the Afriversity programme
- We also invite Foundations that are specifically aimed at African developments to collaborate with Afriversity
- Private Donors are welcome to contribute with the opportunity to allocate funds to specific students as their dedicated sponsor
Value Added Partners
- Afriversity will reply on the help from companies that can offer facilities in the area of IT, communications, travel, energy and logistics
- These sponsors will benefit from access to well educated African executives with local markets and cultural know-how
- Sponsoring organisations will also benefit from the exposure of Afriversity in media and the press, and the good-will generated by being actively involved with long term African prosperity
- Many global organisations today have expressed a corporate social responsibility in their annual reports - Sponsoring Afriversity is a practical action for corporations to put words into action, and help create sustainable growth for Africa
Media
- Afriversity is involving the media in a positive and educational way, spreading the brand name across the globe to bring awareness of not just the educational programme, but the development of world class business executives progress in Africa
- By the involvement of high class educational institutions, and blue chip companies, the selected media companies will be able to get an insight in how industrial companies are now approaching the African opportunity in a brand new way, not seen before
- The idea is to follow both the development of Afriversity as a new brave educational project, as well as its first students from the early days until graduation
- The aim is to inspire more organisations to join and become sponsors and active participants
- The aim is not to create a "reality show" for the purpose of entertainment, but to educate the world outside Africa what a wealth of resources and talent is available in the continent of Africa, and for people to buy African products and services
